Sometimes the most fun can be had with the easiest puzzles. Puzzlers always get a lot of enjoyment from sharing a seemingly simple puzzle amongst friends; the ones that you know you should be able to do but often take a little longer than expected (it always seems a lot longer when someone else is watching) so don't discard the idea of buying a level 1 or 2 puzzle out of hand.  You can get that  "Ah-Ha!" factor from them too.

	Loop - Cast Puzzle	QTY:
	Difficulty Level 1 Can you take it apart?  Can you assemble it again?  Getting the two parts of the loop back together again will be much trickier than you might think.  The puzzle comes on a leather thong so that you can use is as a pendant – it certainly makes a baffling piece of jewellery. Created by the young Finnish puzzle designer Vesa Timonen.  The key word is "Synthesis".

The earliest known version of this puzzle was called The Ivory Lotus Puzzle and involved separating two beautifully carved pieces of ivory.  It was was published as early as 1557 in Jerome Cardan's De Rerum Varietate in 1557 and is also shown in the 1801 Bestelmeier Toy Catalog. 	Difficulty 2 The object of the puzzle is to pack all the pieces inside the diced box and be able to close the lid.  Pieces have a combination of flat planes, drilled holes or protruding half balls.
