Nobuyuki Yoshigahara (known to us all as Nob). Born May 27 1936. Died June 19th 2004.
Nob left his career in high-polymer engineering to teach high school chemistry and mathematics but soon became the most celebrated puzzler in Japan. A puzzle inventor, collector & solver, Nob also wrote more than 80 books about puzzles and contributed to numerous magazines.
To honour this founding group member of the International Puzzle Party in 2005 the puzzle design competition was renamed the Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design Competition http://johnrausch.com/DesignCompetition/.
In 2003, the Association of Game & Puzzle Collectors awarded Nob with the Loyd Award, for individuals who have made a significant contribution to the world of mechanical puzzles.

This puzzle is one of these rare puzzles revived in it's new form. The key of the puzzle is decisively navigating its labyrinth, in which exists one point of weakness for you to break through. For the indecisive part of you!
The object is to separate the two parts - N E W S. The level of difficulty is very high because it's very difficult to work out the solution to the puzzle. Once done the puzzle is not difficult to memorise.
The goal is to escape the gridlock. Rush Hour is a sliding block sequential move puzzle designed to challenge your sequential-thinking skills.
The puzzle comes with 40 challenge cards with four levels of play: beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert. Start with beginner challenges and work up from there. Colour coded cards make games setup easy. If you find yourself hopelessly stuck in traffic gridlock just tip out the pieces and start over.
The puzzle includes playing grid surface with pull out card drawer, 4 standard trucks and 11 standard cars, 1 fancy car (that's for you to drive out of the traffic jam, 40 challenge cards and a bonus storage bag for easy transport.
