Category More than seventy years later, Hanayama continues to make board games, puzzles and bingo games as well as this wonderful range of cast metal puzzles that are guaranteed to be the life of the party at family gatherings for people of all ages. Not only was this range of cast puzzles chosen for our website because because of the attention to detail in manufacture but also because Hanayama suitably acknowledges and credits the inventors of these ingenious puzzles. These are original metal puzzles made with the permission of the inventors not unauthorised copies. These cast metal puzzles are divided into six levels of difficulty; but don't think you'll start with the most difficult. Don't dismiss level 1 puzzles like the Hook or the Loop out of hand as without challenge. And level 4 metal puzzles like Marble have taken experienced puzzlers hours to master. Take on the level 6 Elk, Nutcase or the NEW Square and others at your peril. Read more details about the Hanayama Japanese cast puzzle philosophy here.... You don't have to return later and ask for the solution. We've been supplying the official printed solutions from Hanayama with the puzzles since February 2006. Not offered as standard by other sellers. DISCOUNTED SETS at the bottom of this page. The only seller when you can choose the puzzles in your discounted set of 6 or 12. Not standard sets. Choose your own combination of puzzles for your set. Brian at the Hanayama Stall at the 2010 Tokyo Toy Fair. Difficulty Level 4 The puzzle is to separate the 4 pieces of the two rings. Even though these are just new we still offer them as part of our discounted sets of 6 or 12 Hanayama puzzles. Difficulty Level 3 It may appear to be a box like lump with a hole in the middle but it's really two coiled up, virtually identical pieces. The challenge is to take the two pieces apart by sliding and rotating them. Difficulty Level 5 The puzzles is to try to separate the two H's that are locked together. Difficulty Level 4 The puzzle is to separate the four pieces from each other then put them back together again. Four pieces of the same shape are loosely interlocked to make the puzzle. The pieces fit loosely together and it seems they should be easy to take apart. Difficulty Level 5 Can you separate the 'Adam' and 'Eve' loops from the heart? Difficulty Level 4 The puzzle is to separate the two pieces fashioned after the image of intertwining Bach melodies. Difficulty Level 6 The key work here is "antlers". Can you free the antlers.... and then put them back together again? Difficulty Level 4 The puzzle is to try to get the three pieces apart and then back together again. To the people at Hanayama it looked like a strange adornment weaved into a "coiffure" design. Difficulty Level 2 This puzzle, utilising pieces resembling equipment used in the sport of cricket, can be traced back to a puzzle patented in England back in 1898. The world's only remaining original version of this puzzle is part of the personal collection of James Dalgety in England. Difficulty Level 6 Can you separate the three links of the chain and then get it back together again? Difficulty Level 1 Can you take it apart? Can you assemble it again? Getting the two parts of the loop back together again will be much trickier than you might think. The puzzle comes on a leather thong so that you can use is as a pendant – it certainly makes a baffling piece of jewellery. Created by the young Finnish puzzle designer Vesa Timonen. The key word is "Synthesis". Difficulty Level 3 This cube is actually a maze from which you have to remove the segment of a sphere. The segment inside can be moved around but how to find the 14 set moves, in order, to remove it from the cube? There are many reviewers, including Rik van Grol writing in CFF Magazine, who believe this puzzle warrants a rating even higher than Level 3 out of 6. Difficulty Level 6 The puzzle is to separate the four pieces from each other then put them back together again. Difficulty Level 5 At first glance it looks like there is only one ring hanging from the grid but there are in fact two rings attached with a magnetic force. Can you separate the rings from the grid and return them to their original positions? Difficulty Level 6 The three pieces of this puzzle just slide apart, you don't need to force them. Can you work out the twisting movement required to achieve this and to then get them back together again? Difficulty Level 5 The object of this brilliant cast metal puzzle is to take the two interlocked loops apart and take them out of the surrounding planet like structure, then get the puzzle back together again. The puzzle was designed for Hanayama by Oskar van Deventner of The Netherlands and released in 2008. Difficulty Level 5 Difficulty Level 5 This puzzle is one of these rare puzzles revived in it's new form. The key of the puzzle is decisively navigating its labyrinth, in which exists one point of weakness for you to break through. For the indecisive part of you! Difficulty Level 4 This puzzle has such a beautiful shape that it could easily be mistaken for a piece of jewelry. Difficulty Level 2 Two ancient looking medals engraved with a flowing river and a swimming salmon. Difficulty Level 6 There are two goals to the Cast Nutcase created by the Dutch puzzle inventor, Oskar van Deventner. Difficulty Level 6 Separate the 4 pieces of the puzzle. True bonds has always been hard to form, but once formed such bonds are eternal and hard to break. The inventor Uyematsu says that his original version was created with this image in his mind, but the puzzle was completed into a cast puzzle with a bond that is truly difficult to unravel. How would you go about breaking and forming this bond? There are two approaches to this puzzle and we challenge you to both! Difficulty Level 4 Difficulty Level 5 The five separate rings can be taken apart and put back together again to form a very large ring. The ring is a puzzle, not meant to be worn as jewellery.
