The Levitron is an amazing anti-gravity top. Puzzling but not really a puzzle, the Levitron will certainly appeal to people with enquiring minds just the way other puzzles do. A testament to this is how many hours Brian (alias Mr Puzzle) has spent playing with his Levitron.
It is certainly a challenge to setup, getting just the right weights and adjustments to make the top levitate for long periods of time. Once done though, the unique base design amazes and astounds onlookers as the high-flying top levitates mysteriously above the opening in the center. We do help you to achieve this by supplying a battery operated starter. A very useful tool which can be used to start other tops as well.
The presentation of this product is of the highest quality. The base is made from beautifully turned Cherry Wood with adjustable brass legs for easy leveling. It uses the most powerful rare earth magnets available.
A recent analogy of the Levitron is a trap for microscopic particles (eg: electrons, neutrons) which has been recognised by scientists working in the fascinating area of research where matter is manipulated and examined, one microscopic particle at a time.
