Mr Puzzle began creating Limited Edition puzzles in 1993 as a way of adding puzzles not generally or commercially available to his own puzzle collection and this remain one of the main drivers for choosing which puzzles to make each year. Puzzles are chosen for either historical significance and aesthetic value, not necessarily degree of difficulty. Even though they are works of art in their own right they are definitely working puzzles. An additional puzzle element is often added which makes the puzzle unique and usually increases the level of difficulty. They are made to a larger scale than usual so you can display your pieces of puzzle art. We use only Australasian timbers; they are often quite rare species with the wood no longer available in commercial quantities but we're able to source enough to make a small number of puzzles. Mr Puzzle began making only six of each puzzle in 1993. Over the years the number in each LE release has increased and due to demand we will make 30 of each in 2004. Only 30 will EVER be made and no additional puzzles from previous limited editions have ever or will ever be made. There are not even any formal drawings of these puzzles available. Mr Puzzle always keeps one of them for himself (the picture left is of his LE display in his puzzle room) and will only sell the other 29. There has on rare occasions been a Designer's Copy of the puzzle made as well. The puzzles are individually numbered and signed by Brian and come complete with a certificate of authenticity, and most are presented in a protective cotton drawstring bag (except where the puzzle is very large like 2001 Lost Day). Although we provide professionally printed solutions with all other puzzles we do not usually do so for Limited Edition items. However, we are always willing to provide whatever assistance you require to solve your puzzle - anything from handy hints to hand drawings and sometimes photos are available upon request.

We currently have puzzles from the December 2007 Limited Edition series for sale. Click here for details. We also have a few puzzles from previous years. It is rare that a previous Limited Edition puzzle is offered for resale. The couple of times we've seen this have been over the past few years on eBay. The puzzles have always sold quickly and they have always shown a substantial increase in value from than thier original price. If you're interested in one you could set up an eBay search for "Mr Puzzle" and see what comes up.
