Noel Doyle
Noel Doyle, (1952-1998)
Born Mt Isa, Queensland, Australia
Grew up in Brisbane, educated at Yeronga High School.
1970-75
Apprenticeships in Lithographic and Black/White camera operations
1975 - 1987
TAFE Lecturer in Screen Printing Courses Professional Photographer
8 years experience in colour slide reproduction and Electronic
Scanning devices.
1987 - 1998
Full-time artist
1988 - Painted "Bohra". Acyrllic on canvas, commissioned
by the Honourable Minister Bob Katter jnr to Her Majesty Queen
Elizabeth II during World Expo, Brisbane 1988.
1989 - First painted onto fabric, with his famous 'Barramundi
and Turtle' material.
The material was used for the Tails Jacket presented to Elton
John during his 1990 World Tour.
1990 - Doyle's famous artwork, "Turrabul", a unique
and detailed 'map'
showing the old burial grounds, campsites and campsites where
modern Brisbane stands today. This work was subsequently purchased
by the Queensland Art Gallery.
1991 - Doyle completes his 'Rainbow Serpent' work, where a bridge
was completely painted by Doyle to feature in the Gold Coast Indy
Grand Prix.
1995 - Doyle's first solo art exhibition. 'Pathways', established
the reputation of the artist.
