IPP - Puzzle Design Competition

Brian was chosen to design and manufacture the Trophies for the winners of the IPP Puzzle Design Competitions in both 2001 & 2002. Check out the official web site at http://www.puzzleworld.org/DesignCompetition/ The second IPP Puzzle Design Competition was judged in Anterwpen, Belgium from 8-11 August 2002. The complete list of 61 puzzle entries can be viewed at http://www.puzzleworld.org/DesignCompetition/2002/entries.htm The inaugural competition was held in Tokyo in August 2001 and past entries can be seen at http://www.puzzleworld.org/DesignCompetition/2001/entries.htm The trophy is a fourteen piece interlocking burr with the outward appearance of the IPP logo. To ensure the winning puzzle designer is suffiently challenged the puzzle has many unusual moves to be completed when disassembling and assemling it. Just balancing it on the stand could be considered a challenge. This puzzle given as the "Puzzlers' Award" selected by IPP attendees is presented in Queensland Silver Ash with African Ebony detail. There are four awards selected by the Judging Committee. These tropies are made from Queensland Silver Ash with Western Australian Jarrah detail and stand.
