These 12 notched bars cut from hexagonal wooden rods interlock to form a symmetrical burr.

Stewart Coffin and Bill Cutlet both discovered the same puzzle independently in the mid 1960's. Probably the two best burr designers ever it's a famous case of 'great minds think alike'!

Stewart Coffin licensed the puzzle to 3M who made about 100,000 copies in while styrene at that time with the name Hectix. Apparently, 3M could handle the injection moulding part but they struggled with their staff putting the puzzles together for sale making it much more expensive than intended.... or so the story goes.

Stewart Coffin also made versions of the puzzle himself in wood called Hexsticks, and some others made unlicensed versions back then. Stewart has since declared his designs as public domain so budget copies made like this one are quite legal these days.

The puzzle has three different solutions. We give you one on the printed sheet with the puzzle. The three different coloured rods will help you know if you've found the other two solutions.

Size:70mm x 70mm x 70mm
The puzzle comes shrink wrapped inside a brown craft card box with a window face and it has a printed solution inside.
