Hanayama Difficulty Level 4 but considered by many to be closer to a Level 5 puzzle.
A quarter of this cake has been cut away showing three identical layers inside. The puzzle is to remove the three layers from inside the cake.
The outer cake part is like a box with a cutaway piece and you have to remove or insert the three cake slice discs. At first it will seem that there is not even any movement. The pieces just don’t seem as though they can come out. But they will. And it will probably happen quite suddenly so keep your wits about you because you know you’ll have to put them back in again!
This puzzle looks simple but it is very ingenious. Designed by American designer Bram Cohen. Bram also designed Hexagon and Galaxy for Hanayama as well as the amazing Fidgiz twisty puzzle for ThinkFun.
Size: Presented in Hanayama’s new Huzzle box. Colour coded for difficulty. The box is 75mm x 115mm x 45mm The cake is 40mm in diameter.
Hanayama puzzles come packaged with a printed solution. This is the genuine solution supplied by Hanayama, not offered as standard by other sellers.
