Description
The top of the puzzle box rotates freely but you’ll need to put in more effort than simply screwing it off if you’re going to open this one.
There are eight coloured anodised rods in the centre circled by another eight matching coloured anodised pieces screwed in an outer circle on the lid. Is this some sort of code?
When Brian (aka Mr Puzzle) was playing with this one he fluked it first without really understanding the mechanism. Even this still took him quite some time. Once he had it back together he tried again and finally the aha! moment when he knew he could solve it because he understood what was in the mind of Jean-Claude when designing it. If you fluke it don’t stop. It’s well worth the effort to be sure you really understand what’s happening.
Made of laser-cut wood which has a particularly ingenious and intricate pattern to make the round box. The puzzle has coloured anodised aluminium tubes on top.
Size: Diameter 100mm Height 55mm There is no space inside the box to put a gift. Most of the inside is taken up with a very complex mechanism that opens the box.
No solution is provided for this puzzle.
The puzzle is made by Jean Claude Constantin.
Jean-Claude is a German puzzle inventor and maker well known for his very high quality and creative puzzles sold at local markets throughout Germany and to collectors around the world. He does not export very many puzzles and we are very pleased to be able to offer a small selection of his puzzles including this e-box. We have very few of the puzzles available at present but hope to get more later in 2021.
