Hanayama Difficulty Level 1 – Fun!
As you can see the puzzle consists of the letters A, B & C. The puzzle is to negotiate the maze and be able to remove the letter C and then put it back on again.
This is a very good entry-level puzzle to start kids puzzling. Even big kids will find it tricky enough.
It makes a great themed gift to a teacher as well.

The ABC puzzle is one of the first released by Hanayama back in 1983 and it’s still as good and relevant today as it was back then. Almost 40 years later and the robust cast puzzles continue to be made to the highest quality standards.
James Dalgety at the Puzzle Museum UK has an ABC maze puzzle in his collection made from cast iron circa 1900. Hanayama’s research shows it was first registered in the UK in 1911 by a company called Sydenham and McDustra.
The Johnson Smith mail order catalogue included hundreds of toys, puzzles, gags and gifts and the ABC maze puzzle was featured in 1929 at a cost of 15 cents including postage! The Amazon of it’s day, at it’s most popular there were over 100,000 copies printed of the 576 page catalogue.
Size: Presented in the new Huzzle colour coded silver box which is 75mm x 115mm x 45mm. The AB part of the puzzle is 70mm wide.
Hanayama puzzles come packaged with a genuine solution supplied by Hanayama. Even though it might be Level 1 plenty of people have still resorted to using the solution.
