Hanayama Difficulty Level 4
Here is a challenging maze. At first glance, the two pieces have simple concave and convex angles on their flat surfaces. However, when the two pieces intertwine they take the shape of a 3D maze. You must twist and turn them around. If you rush without thinking you will come to a dead end. Be careful as you may end up going around in circles.
The theme is “Groove”.
The puzzle was invented by Vesa Timonen from Finland. This was the first Cast Puzzle where he used computer programming to analyse and optimise the design. It is basically a labyrinth. Almost all puzzles can be categorised as labyrinths, but some are just better hidden than others.
Vesa also invented the Hanayama Loop puzzle which may be rated as Level 1 but is a very beautiful form with a nice solution as well as a number of others. Search by the designer to find them all.
Size: The keyhole pieces are about 70mm long and 25mm wide.
The puzzle now comes in the new Hanayama Huzzle packaging graded by colour. Blue is for Level 4. Box size: 75mm x 115mm x 45mm
Hanayama puzzles come packaged with a printed solution. This is the genuine solution supplied by Hanayama, not offered as standard by other sellers.
