Description
Hanayama Difficulty Level 4 – Fairly Hard
Using the grooves slide the protrusions and attempt to complete this very complicated puzzle. The asymmetrical design will mesmerise you and bewilder your memory. The movement is definitely a twist on what you expect.
Theme: Tangle
Designed by Oskar van Deventer from The Netherlands. This puzzle was first prototyped by Oskar in 2004 but the idea was shelved because it appeared too difficult to manufacture back then. Fast forward to 2012 and with the use of 3D printing, it was presented to the production team at Hanayama to see if they thought it could be mass produced. The decision was made to proceed to create a mould and cast the puzzles using a special molten zinc alloy. Once cast the puzzle is a long way from finished. Special machines cut off excess material from the die-cast pieces, then the pieces are buffed to remove sharp edges, and polished in a special vibrating tumbler before being plated and the puzzle is finally ready for the manual job of assembly and packaging. Who knew it could be so time-consuming?
Size: Twist diameter 35mm. Presented in a view window box which is 75mm x 115mm x 45mm
Hanayama puzzles come packaged with a printed solution. Not offered as standard by other sellers.
