How many different genre’s of puzzle can you pack into a single brainteaser? Maze. Sliding Block Puzzle. Puzzle Box. Sequential Discovery. Plenty!
The Two in One Box is a unique fusion of these elements. With two main puzzles to solve, the sliding block puzzle and the puzzle box, hence the name Two In One. But there’s so much more involved in this puzzle than that.
One puzzle is a harder variation of Jean-Claude Constantin’s Schieblehre Sliding Block Maze also sold here at Mr Puzzle. This one has two ball bearings to remove not just one. Maybe he’s just put that in there to prove you know what you’re doing to get the first one out and didn’t just fluke it?
Put that puzzle on top of a puzzle box and challenge the puzzler to open it. Only Jean-Claude would think of doing that! And only Jean-Claude would add other elements so that there’s more work for you to do even after you’ve solved the sliding block maze before the box can be opened. The tricks just keep piling up.
This is a fascinating, brainteaser and the solution is as elegant as it is baffling.
Even the mechanism to make resetting the maze to the starting position has been thought of so that you can simply press the ball bearings back in place through the hole provided in the acrylic top, rather than having to reverse solve the whole puzzle.
The puzzle is made of laser-cut wood with stainless steel hardware. The colours of the box and the maze pieces are different in almost every puzzle. The photos are indicative of how they look but the puzzle you may receive might not be exactly as the photo shows.
Size: 135mm x 80mm x 65mm Space Inside: Something too large could interfere with the mechanism. The open box has a restricted opening 40mm x 50mm but it can fit something as long as 70mm. Certainly, a credit card would fit if you really want to make it challenging for the person to access their gift!
No solution is provided for this puzzle.
The puzzle is made by Jean Claude Constantin.
Jean-Claude is a German puzzle inventor and maker well known for his very high quality and creative puzzles sold at local markets throughout Germany and to collectors around the world. He does not export very many puzzles and we are very pleased to be able to offer a small selection of his puzzles. His puzzle boxes are especially rare and we have very few copies available. We hope to get more later in 2021.
