Difficulty – Hard but not Extreme
The puzzle is to remove shuttle from within the cage. Better known as the “Hedgehog in the Cage” this puzzle has it’s roots firmly in the Czech Republic.
The first publication of the puzzle was in print in 1940 in an adventure magazine for boys published by Jaroslav Folgar; the puzzle was not made commercially in wood until 1941 when it was sold in a shop in Prague. The story is not without controversy because a patent was lodged in USA in 1896 by Mr C A Worrall for a similar puzzle however because Mr Folger died in 1999 it is no longer possible to determine where he got his original idea for the magazine from.
The puzzle has since been made in many versions including wood, this plastic version, and metal. A stainless steel version is also available here.
Size: Clear plastic cylinder box is 120mm high.
The solution is printed on the bottom of the box.
