Hanayama Difficulty Level 6 - The hardest!

The new and very difficult Trinity puzzle by Hanayama has the same sort of organic shape and feel to it as a couple of previous Hanayama favourites; Baroq and Radix. Because the shape of each piece is not uniform it's difficult to discover the system of how it will come apart. But it will!

Each of the three pieces of the puzzle is totally interlocked with the other pieces. We think this one will challenge the most brilliant minds to get all three untangled and back together again.  There are numerous possible combinations other than the ones shown here, giving you plenty of room to enjoy some puzzling experimentation.

Let's hope it's not three strikes and your out! when you're trying to solve this amazing triple play!

Designed by Kyoo Wong who has worked with Hanayama based in Hong Kong for many years.  This puzzle won the Jury 1ST Prize in the Nob Yoshigahara Design Competition in San Diego in August 2018.

We recently spoke to Kyoo Wong and asked him for some insight into how he would start to design a puzzle like Trinity.  He told us that he starts drawing in an illustrator or cad program then makes a simple 2D model, often made from cardboard, then progressing to layers of acrylic until a 3D sample comes together. He uses this model to analyse the movement of the puzzle and may add obstacles to it. He then uses a 3D scanner to make a sample in metal for checking size, weight and strength. One last step is to make a sample that is about 200% larger to check the critical location.

Imagine the patience and precision to do this work. Thank you Kyoo & Hanayama for creating such brilliant puzzles!

Size: It's hard to measure this one - each piece is about 55mm long and 35mm wide. Presented in a view window box which is 75mm x 115mm x 45mm
The puzzle is very new and this packaging is the original Japanese Huzzle packaging. There is only Japanese and no English writing on the box.
We understand that you want the puzzle solution just for peace of mind so when you buy from Mr Puzzle we package the original solution supplied by Hanayama with the puzzle. Not offered by other sellers.
