International Puzzle Party 34 London, England

The 34th International Puzzle Party was held in London, England in August 2014.
Mr Puzzle made six new designs for the Edward Hordern Puzzle Exchange event that is one of the focus events of IPP.
Puzzles are listed in the Exclusive IPP Puzzles page on our website.

Brian’s own exchange puzzle was designed by Juno here at Mr Puzzle so you know it will be a difficult one!
A Voyage to Terra Australis  Double sided pentominoes
Presented by Brian Young. Designed by Jinichi Yananose. Made by Mr Puzzle.

We’ve designed many themed puzzles for IPP before but not often Australiana.  So we were pleased when the chance to design a real Aussie theme that still tied in with ‘Mother England’ presented itself.
The puzzle is to help Matthew Flinders fix his map of the Australian Coastline on his voyage to Terra Australis?

Big Ben  sequential discovery puzzle
Presented by John Moores. Designed by John Moores, Junichi Yananose & Brian Young. Made by Mr Puzzle.

This puzzle is part of the category of puzzles known as Progressive Move or sometimes called Sequential Discovery. The puzzle is designed in such a way that each discovery you make entices you further into the puzzles, to discover the next sequence or level, getting steadily more difficult as you go.
For a recent review of this puzzle check PuzzleMad blog or google IPP Big Ben Puzzle.

Fallingwater Burr 6 piece interlocking burr
Presented by Lambert Bright.   Designed by Junichi Yananose.  Made by Mr Puzzle.

The clear pieces add another element of difficulty because its difficult to get your bearings when doing the puzzle; its often difficult to see exactly which piece your working with.  Strange, considering that they are clear which means you can see everything!

Checking In checkerboard packing tray puzzle Stewart Coffin design STC223 never previously made
Presented by Jerry Slocum.   Designed by Stewart Coffin.  Made by Mr Puzzle.

The puzzle is to fit all 8 pieces, including the spare, inside the frame in a checkered pattern.

Black Hole Burr assembled the 3 pieces around the black hole cube
Presented by Rosemary Howbrigg.   Designed by Junichi Yananose.  Made by Mr Puzzle.

A great Aha feeling.  Sold disassembled to maximise puzzling!

Keep I on the Burr very difficult level 12 burr
Presented by Karst Nauta.   Designed by Junichi Yananose.  Made by Mr Puzzle.

A very difficult interlocking burr that’s not BurrTools friendly so you need to work it out all on your own.
