Cluebox is an interactive box with various puzzles, which have to be solved one after the other to open the box. A merging of mechanical puzzle and escape room elements. There is nothing based on randomness, only on logical decisions.
In other words, this is a very interesting multi-move Puzzle Box in a handy Escape Room format!
Some reviews we’ve read have set this as a sequential discovery puzzle because there are tools in use. But we think this is firmly in the Escape Room space because the tools are actually keys and the use of the keys is based on decrypting codes.
Good observation skills will be key to solving this box!
The story linked to the box is of the famous experiment by the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger called Schrödinger’s Cat. We are sure the cat is still alive and you must save it.
It’s always hard to say how long it will take anyone to complete a series of puzzles like this but iDventure who developed the puzzle says most people should take about 60 minutes. We actually think it will take you quite a bit longer than that unless you are really good at deciphering cryptic clues!!! Perhaps you have lots of Escape Room experiences to call on. This could also help a lot. But in general, the puzzle box is aimed at 14+ Why not get 2 and have an escape room party? Great fun to connect over if you’re in lockdown and having a virtual party!
Unlike many Escape Room puzzles and games, this puzzle box is resettable so if you’re brave enough to try to open it yourself you can also use it as a sophisticated gift wrap by placing your gift inside then closing it up again.
The Cluebox has been developed and manufactured by iDventure from Germany and we have imported them directly from that company. In the past iDventure have developed only virtual escape room and murder mystery games. The Cluebox is their first venture into the world of mechanical puzzles and they’ve married a physical puzzle box with the escape room elements very well.
It is made from laser-cut birch wood and finished with wood oil. It consists of 52 individual parts which are put together with care by hand. Some of the parts are small but the Cluebox is very well made and there is absolutely no force necessary to remove any parts.
Size: 100mm x 100mm x 103mm
There is a very detailed solution available which is accessed from information on the card that comes with the puzzle.
