The goal is to take the EGG apart into two pieces. No force at all is required, no banging, no magnets. When we say no force, we really do mean no force.

Start with the egg standing on its end. From there you will need to discover the series of moves in order than can unlock the mechanism holding the two halves of the EGG together. With each discovery there is just enough feedback for you to progress further; but not too much.

Brian has had this puzzle for quite some time and has only just recently solved it. He thinks it's one of the most difficult of Wil's puzzles ever.

Size: 95mm tall and 72mm round.

The puzzle is very solidly made from anodised pink aluminium with a matt texture and the engineering of parts both inside and out is of very good quality. The puzzle does not come in any special packaging. The puzzle is bubble-wrapped inside a strong cardboard cylinder and we've put a label with the goal of the puzzle on the outside. Wil is a true puzzle solver and has the philosophical view that puzzles should not come with solution sheets. So, if you purchase one of these puzzles there will be no solution supplied.

The last time we had this puzzle was back in early 2017. That batch was Wil's original Limited Edition numbered puzzles. This batch will be similar in that they are numbered and have Wil's signature on the puzzle. The number that you see in this photo is a random number and not the actual number you will receive.

The history of the EGG (written by Wil):

Wil Strijbos EGG 1986
See the picture I took when I visited James Dalgety in December 2011. The date on the bottom from the EGG says 1986, so it is now at least 28 years ago that I created this EGG.

This first creation will be also in the collection from Jerry Slocum, Dick Hess and in some other collections.  Maximum production at that time was less than ten. In the 90tys last century, a company tried to produce the EGG. The result at the end was a broken EGG, too difficult to produce they told me. So when I saw my EGG again in the collection from James Dalgety I decided to give it a try. See the result here. I’m very proud of the result and I hope you will enjoy playing with it. I’m sure it will be a nice addition to your puzzle collection.
