Capturing the colour of The Three Sisters:
This famous rock formation is weathered by time and erosion and the grandeur of the Jamison Valley located near Echo Point, Katoomba in the world-famous Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, two hours drive west of Sydney. It is the lungs of Sydney area of natural beauty a must when visiting Sydney spend a few days here soaking in the majesty breath it’s air. The local Aboriginal legend is that three sisters were turned to stone so was born the Three Sisters.

This incredible photograph across Sydney Harbour was captured by Philip Johnson from a vantage point in North Sydney. He describes his feeling that morning as “it was just one of those magic Sydney Harbour mornings where the surface is as still as a millpond, the quiet before the ferries arrive transporting commuters to the work for the day and the fishing boats return with their catches. Add the colours of a glorious sunrise and there is no other word but magic, and one of those YES YES YES photographic moments.”

The rock formations are found on Australia’s Great Ocean Road, south of Melbourne in Victoria. The Great Ocean Road stretches 243 kilometres from Torquay in the north to Adamstown in the south, also known as the shipwreck coast where many a ship has been swallowed by the waves. It’s coastline weathered by time and the waves , a coastline of arches and canyons it is indeed inspiring and has attracted photographers and artists who are inspired by it’s sheer beauty and return again and again.
