The puzzle is to slide each piece in the correct sequence to take the puzzle apart. With every move you make, one or more pieces will move easily – but there’s only one correct answer. It’s up to you to work out which move is the right one!

In ancient times the great oracles foretold that whoever solved the mystery of the Gordian Knot would rule the world. For 400 years countless contenders tried and failed until one day Alexander the Great took up the challenge and succeeded. Are you ready for the new Gordian’s Knot challenge?

The designer of this puzzle is Frans de Vreugd. Frans is an architect by day but has designed many, many puzzles in his ‘spare’ time. As soon as he presented the puzzle to ThinkFun they saw how ingenious it was.

An incredible challenge to your spatial awareness, probably for teens and adults only,  the puzzle is so hard we’ve given it 10/10 rating. Even if you get it apart you still have to put it back together again to say the puzzle is done. And we encourage you to do it without the solution.  The difficulty rating reflects it done without the solution and both taking it apart and putting it back together again.

Size of puzzle: 70mm x 70mm x 70mm This puzzle is so difficult the makers have included a 69 page, one step per page, spiral-bound glossy colour solution booklet. It includes BOTH the solution to take the puzzle apart and also the steps to put it back together again.

This puzzle will vex you for a good amount of time, it’s only flaw I found was some of the pieces can be moved in a manner that makes defeating it easier than intended. Really needs a warning ‘the solution to this puzzle is achieved by not turning any of the pieces, even if they can’

Can’t beat a puzzle like this! Fun, challenging (more so to rebuild), and well priced! I spent roughly 3 hours disassembling, and then spent roughly 4-6 days putting it back together haha. Well worth the cost! Don’t let the kid like look fool you, this will be a challenge. Enjoy!
