Description

The object of the puzzle is to remove the ring. This is the hardest rope disentanglement puzzle around.

At Mr Puzzle, we started making this one back in 2009 and it’s never been out of production. We decided to have them made by MI Toys in China this year because we just can’t keep up with the demand for them. This is a great puzzle and well deserves it’s including in our Very Difficult Puzzles category.

Whilst there have been a few puzzles using similar topology released over the years MR PUZZLE chose to make this design because it appears simple to solve at first, but will actually prove very difficult. In looking for a puzzle to present at the 19th International Puzzle Party in London in 1999 designer Rick Eason of USA wanted one which would be ‘tricky’ to solve. Rick thought the nickname of a famous past President of the USA aptly described his new design.

Note: The tolerances are precise. The disk looks like it should go through the loop but it will not. It is definitely NOT designed to go through the loop. It won’t help if you try to stretch the rope, or force it through in some way.  And the loop is not designed to be forced over the end of the stick.  Doing this you will only end up breaking your puzzle instead of solving it.

Size: The length of the stick in the puzzle is 130mm. The box is 150mm x 70mm x 40mm.

Best rope puzzle ever made bar none!
This puzzle is very challenging, even after I solved it, it took about 10 times solving it again, for me to figure out the second step, very tricky indeed. This is now my favorite rope puzzle, I am very pleased, this is a must have in your puzzle collection.
don’t think twice about this purchase.

    No force is required...

    Beautifully designed.
    Looks deceptively simple.
The solution is elegant, putting it back together is just as much fun as taking the ring from the puzzle.
No force is required, if you are finding that you are using force, you are going down a wrong path!
During the journey, it will appeared tangled, but then the solution is arrived at.
    Have fun!
