The puzzle is to get the beads together on the same loop of rope.  To do that you need to pass one bead through the moon somehow.  Or do you?

This type of string or rope disentanglement puzzle was seen in the book Recreations Mathematiques et Physiques published by Jacques Ozanam in 1725 but it was thought to be played in North Africa for centuries before that.
Since then it's been included in the 1893 puzzle book by Professor Hoffman and the famous mathematician Martin Gardner is said to have thought "this was the best of all string puzzles".

Size: The moon is 112mm from tip to tip and 35mm wide.
This puzzles comes in a draw string calico bag with a solution inside.
