Which came first the Egg or the Chicken?

With this puzzle it was the egg…. and we challenge you to make the 54 different chicken shapes shown using it’s pieces.

The pieces are made from nine different species of timber and presented in a Jarrah gift box.
The earliest known example of this puzzle date from 1893. Between 1891 and 1964 the German firm A.J.Richter & Co. made a range of 36 different dissection puzzles under the trade name Anchor Puzzles.
