The puzzle is to assemble the four pieces into a square. Then using all four pieces try to make the other 12 shapes on the enclosed sheet which increases the difficulty rating to 3.
The concept of dissecting a square into a number of pieces to make a puzzle may at first appear to be a simple one but none-the-less it must be a good one because as early as 1749 the French toy catalogue Les Amusemens was publishing them. Each piece is identical and has two right angles just to confuse!
