This six block burr has a solid piece which locks it together.
The earliest known example of this puzzle was being sold as The Small Devil’s Hoof in the Mathematical Amusements section of Catel’s catalogue published in Berlin in 1790 & 1793. It’s a classic and must be a part of any comprehensive range of puzzles.
